Linguistic representation and modeling of a discursive event job application: comparative aspect
The present article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the principles of linguistic design of CVs in German, English and Russian languages. Nowadays, the study of verbal principles of knowledge representation is becoming more and more relevant. Being a condition of problem solving in each specific employment situation, the CV genre reflects the specificity of institutional business discourse in linguistics and fixes the peculiarities of modelling the discursive event ‘applying for a vacancy’.
The aim of the present article is to reveal the specifics of the design of one of the types of business discourse – the CV.
The novelty of the study is the comparative character of the study of the discursive event ‘vacancy application’ on the material of Russian, English and German languages.
Material and methods of research. The linguistic analysis of CVs in three languages – English, German and Russian – is made with the help of descriptive and comparative-comparative methods, as well as component analysis of the studied business discourse.
The results of the study allow us to trace the similarities and differences of the compared discursive events, as well as to talk about the peculiarities of the use of each of them in the compared three languages.
The conducted research allowed us to identify the leading ways of drawing up a competent structure of motivational letters in Russian, English and German, which also determines the correct construction of a CV and further obtaining the desired job.
