The article focuses on studying aggression in the speech of English-speaking men and women. Examples from literature helps to analyze the categories of speech act and their means of expression. It allows us to determine the basic patterns of its use. The speech act of aggression is a form of behaviour that is included in the research of theoretical problems of communication and speech interaction. The practice of oral and written speech shows that this type of speech act plays a considerable role in speech communication. Having analyzed the main features of the speech act of aggression, we revealed gender differences in the use of this speech act. The analysis revealed a significant difference in the use of the act of aggression between male and female characters. Women are not as fully involved in social life as men are. Women are busy at housework, so their behavior focuses on interpersonal interaction and the expression of their personal feelings and emotions. Their speech aggression is characterized by increased emotionality and tension of speech. Men always strive to control the situation and compete with each other, so they often interrupt and try to show their superiority.
