This article describes the use and functions of cohesive devices in business documents in English and Russian languages. According to the results of this research, we may conclude that the frequency of various cohesive devices and their functions depends on the structure and peculiarities of the language as well as different traditions of compiling business texts. During the translation of the documents some of the cohesive devices are retained intentionally.
