The article deals with “Queen’s speech” as a ritual genre of speech. On the examples of Queen’s Christmas address of the past 60 years the authors reveal basic components of the above genre: the sender, the receiver, the message. The latter is characterized by dependence on the topic, time and place of the speech, the objectives, conformity to norms of etiquette, possible deviations from etiquette norms.
