Business communication is highly culture-determined. Therefore teaching it involves three groups of skills: language, business communication and intercultural communication. The paper looks at how they can all be balanced and interwoven in the process of designing a tailor-made business English course. In terms of heuristics the development proceeds from more explicit and formal aspects to more implicit and cognitively complex ones.
