The article describes the functional properties of verbs of communication such as communication intentionality, situational orientation, ability to execute microcontext and discourse-pragmatic properties in the English business discourse. The author draws attention to the fact that the study of the functional properties of reporting verbs can be of practical significance to improvenot only business discourse as well as other discourse types.
