The article is focused on the analysis of semantic matching during the paradox translation in O. Wilde's plays, as well as on the analysis of translational transformations accompanying the translation from English into Russian, whereby it is possible to draw a conclusion about the most common type of translation equivalence using in the process of paradox translating in Wilde’s plays.
