The Internet-texts based article examines deontic modality as a characteristic feature of modern business English discourse which is inseparably linked to other types of modalities (epistemic, alethic, axiological). This modality being illocutionary rather than subjective
establishes a special sort of relationships between the subjects and generates a peculiar emotive meaning.
