The present article is devoted to the functioning of verb means denoting communication in Business English strategic planning. The authors base on the generalized classification of cooperative strategies and tactics and pay special attention to the contact strategy. 

The objective of this paper is to follow the participation of verb tools denoting communication in building up speech strategies and tactics in terms of their constructive impact on the general sense space in professionally related situations. 

The language material analysis reveals the role of verbs denoting communication as operators of contact strategies and tactics; their support by some other linguistic means (like interjections, adverbs, etc.) is also considered herein. 

The authors' vision is illustrated by examples of politicians' speeches, debates, articles from business periodicals, Business English learning materials and excerpts from fiction books depicting business circles’ way of life. 

The authors prove that through observing the principles of cooperation and employing a complex of means of positive speech influence, mutually acceptable pragmatic impacts can be achieved, with a more efficient advance of the partners’ discourse system towards their common communicative purpose.
