The study discusses the results of the assessment of the use of the electronic educational platform in the process of teaching English as a foreign language at the Financial University and the effectiveness of this technology for the development of basic language skills. The paper includes the number of findings of the research work aimed at assessing the usage of the electronic platform. They indicate that students approve the use of electronic technology for learning a foreign language. To achieve the goal, a questionnaire was used for the survey of the part-time students. The attitude of the student towards application of the e-learning platform can be considered as one of the main factors for successful language acquisition. In this study, an attempt was made to consider how students evaluate the integration of the electronic platform into the traditional learning process. E-learning platform provides students with significant opportunities to choose educational content based on their professional interests and level of foreign language proficiency. The main task of the teacher is to support the student in the selection of educational content and to monitor the learning process and its results. The use of the e-platform changes the form of interaction between the teacher and students. E-platform allows students to work independently on all language skills. However,  the teacher should act as a moderator of the educational process and motivate students to work regularly. This study presents the first steps in assessing the role of e-learning platforms in the process of teaching a foreign language. For a complete study of this problem, it is necessary to expand the range of research methods and propose the use of a larger statistical analysis.
