ABBREVIATION AS A WAY TO FORM NEW WORDS IN GERMAN

This article discusses the main ways of forming abbreviations and translating them from the category of abbreviations into common vocabulary. Describes the relevance of the article in the consideration of the issue in the living German language. Consideration of the process of abbreviation and word formation was conducted on the examples of the modern German language, when the process of word formation and reduction of combinations became common practice. It also discusses the difficulties and ways to solve problems in the translation of abbreviations and words-neologisms, arising by abbreviation. The reasons for the appearance of abbreviations in modern German, some researchers, both Russian and foreign researchers interested in the appearance of abbreviated words, are considered. A decoding of the individual terms required for understanding both the process and the essence of abbreviations is given, with examples, which proves the findings of the presence of these types of abbreviations in German. Given are several examples of various abbreviations used in the German language. Some ways to solve the problems of understanding the lexical meaning of the abbreviation, for students, are given in the final part of the article; the author's views on the process of change occurring in modern German are also reflected when using the methods of abbreviations and word combinations. The difficulties that may arise for students with possible ways to overcome problems on their own are indicated. The possibility of using the competence approach in the study of issues of understanding the lexical meaning of abbreviated words, and the use of knowledge of the linguistic and cultural approach in learning the German language is noted. Also noted are their own views on the process of abbreviation, and on the appearance of the abbreviations themselves in communication.
