Over the last decades military specialists of our country have a great opportunity to conduct research and to speak on military topics at psychological congresses, conferences, workshops, etc. in our country. That‟s why proficiency in a foreign language within military professions is actual. Various approaches, methods and techniques are used in teaching including the principle of inter-discipline relations. The authors of this article consider the method of project work as the leading method of forming the readiness of cadets of military educational institutions. The purpose of the study is to identify and improve the level of development of cadets' competencies within the framework of project-based education in higher military educational institutions, as well as to assess the readiness of cadets to conduct selfdirected work. A test questionnaire is used to track the results of the study. During the experiment, the trainees were actively involved in all types of project work, received the necessary consultations from teachers, carried out information search, scientific research, were engaged in the processing of the results of independent activities and self-reflection. This work proves the consistency and effectiveness of project activities in foreign language classes with the adequate use of the necessary teaching tools. The authors formulate methodological and practical recommendations and provide the examples of the implementation of the project method in military educational institutions.
