Manipulations with objects in an altered state of consciousness and their nomination in stage remarks (on the material of the English language)
The purpose of this study is to depict the means of the indirect way of nomination (description) of manipulations with objects, implemented under over-intense emotional tension which causes an altered state of consciousness in a person. The effect that an altered state of consciousness has on the speech and behavior of a person can be different and is reflected in verbal and nonverbal behavior, in particular in the specifics of manipulations with objects. Since the features of nonverbal behavior in an altered state of consciousness are easily fixed and understandable on an intuitive level, they are described in stage remarks. The analysis of lexical means of naming units of manipulations with objects suggests that the authors of dramaturgical works accurately describe the features of nonverbal behavior of a person experiencing an altered state of consciousness. The novelty of the conducted research consists in the fact that the authors systematically describe for the first time the features of description (the indirect way of nomination) of manipulations with objects reflecting the specifics of the nonverbal behavior of a person experiencing an altered state of consciousness, and thus contribute to the creation of a classification of ways to describe the nonverbal behavior of an individual in a state of affect.
