The article examines metaphorical and lexico-pragmatic mechanisms of power legitimation in the political media discourse of Malaysia and Turkey. The empirical basis consists of a corpus of 250 documents published between 2018 and 2025, amounting to 222,322 words; after thematic and linguistic filtering, the analytical core included 113 documents and 191,017 words. The methodology combines critical discourse analysis, conceptual metaphor analysis, lexico-semantic analysis, evaluative lexis analysis, modality analysis and social actor representation analysis. The study shows that in the Malaysian segment religious-political legitimation is often articulated through the vocabulary of justice, Maqasid Shariah, Ihsan, Malaysia MADANI, rakyat and intercommunal respect. In the Turkish segment, more salient patterns include historical movement, national agency, strategic communication and protective framing: Türkiye Yüzyılı, millet, hakikat, savunma hattı and karşı anlatı. The article concludes that both models are based on a similar mechanism: a political decision gains legitimacy through its inclusion in a broader value system. The ideological function of a media text is realized not only through its theme, but also through established linguistic formulas that provide the recipient with a ready-made framework for evaluation. The practical value of the study lies in proposing a corpus-oriented framework for analysing political-religious media discourse in political linguistics, media linguistics and critical discourse analysis.
