Intercodal cohesion in the creolized text of German-language political TikTok videos
The article addresses the problem of cohesion in the creolized text of a dynamic format: existing taxonomies of intercodal cohesion have been developed for static creolized texts and require adaptation to the material of short political video. The object of the study is the category of cohesion in the creolized text of a video clip; the subject is the types of intercodal cohesion and the specifics of their realization in German-language political TikTok videos produced by different types of authorship. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the types of intercodal cohesion characteristic of this kind of creolized text and to establish how their realization differs across different conditions. Using a stratified corpus of 45 videos (anonymous authors, political bloggers, official media), six types of cohesion adapted from the taxonomies of E.E. Anisimova and K. Hartmann were identified through content analysis and quantitative comparison. The novelty of the study lies in transferring these taxonomies to dynamic text and in obtaining empirical data on the distribution of cohesion types across the strata identified. The main finding is that direct denotative cohesion is virtually obligatory, whereas the remaining types are distributed unevenly and correlate systematically with both the type of authorship and genre-specific features.
