The article considers basic psycholinguistic parameters of text perception and interpretation, and the algorithm of these processes in the recipient’s consciousness. The objective and subjective factors of text interpretation, the stages of text comprehension, the mechanism of forecasting the communicative situation are highlighted. The author concludes that theoretical postulates on text comprehension support practical steps in teaching communication.
