The article deals with emotional-evaluative vocabulary used by modern mass media to portray the conflict in Ukraine. Emotional-evaluative words bear in their meaning emotional attitude of those who use them towards different phenomena. The authors analyze etymology and frequency of use of the above words. The authors conclude that the events in Ukraine gave birth to new emotional-evaluative vocabulary that reveal different attitude towards the same phenomena in mass media discourse.
