Contents, methods and forms of teaching aimed at building adequate skills and abilities to express emotionally various feelings and attitudes while communicating with partners  are considered In the  article. The analysis of the communicative situations is based upon the English language teaching experiences within the university bachelors' of Philology programme. In view of the programme requirements to the university graduates focusing upon the ability to respond emotionally using English as a means of intercultural communication various traditional and non-conventional methods of training English mastering skills are described. The author's particular attention is focused upon the training methods aimed at  forming the competences necessary for expressing emotions, namely, a problem lecture, a discussion lecture, a lecture with application of feedback, an argumentative conversation, game and case studies etc. Linguistic illustrations for training emotional response are represented by the use of English interjections.
