The Republic of Kazakhstan is a state consisting of several national groups. In order to give children of all nationalities a quality education, a new approach to learning has appeared in Kazakhstan: a trilingual system.

To achieve these goals, the following tasks were used: to study the theoretical and methodological aspects of the research problem based on the data of special literature; to analyze the language situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan; to conduct a survey to find out the opinion of representatives of Kazakhstan about their new education system; to test first-graders in order to determine their level of knowledge; to compare the modern school education and education of the Soviet period in Kazakhstan. The results of the analysis presented in the article show that at the stage of transition to a new trilingual education system in Kazakhstan, there are certain difficulties in mastering languages.
