The article deals with the problematic of localization and adaptation of multisemiotic videoverbal animation texts from Russian into English in view of gender features of main characters. Language material for the analysis was authors’ transcripts of the Russian cartoon serial Smeshariki translated into British variant of the English language as Kikoriki. Interest to intercultural adaptation of the polycode videoverbal text is caused by pragmatic necessity of its localization that explains requirement of the preliminary analysis of linguocultural factors for the adequacy of the information transfer. The results of the analysis submitted in the article reveal that the importance of gender estimations in the original and translation is accented differently. Extralinguistic factors in a modern society include those gender settings which have developed in Russian and the English society and linguocultures and which as it is already fixed, differ, and recently more and more differ, that is appreciable even at localization such multisemiotic videoverbal production, as children's animation films.
