The purpose of this study is to create a classification of means of direct and indirect nomination of vocal means of expression that are used in stage remarks to depict the behavior of a character induced by extreme emotional tension. In the article the author summarizes the present-day knowledge about the psychophysiological mechanisms of altered states of consciousness, describes the features of the implementation of vocal means of expression of an individual subject to a state of affect, and also presents a classification of the means of their nomination, consisting of nine groups, each of which allows a researcher to uniquely identify the type of an altered state of consciousness by describing nonverbal behavior and without using psychophysiological techniques. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that for the first time the author managed to create a classification of the means of nominating vocal expressive movements, which has a high predictive potential regarding the type of an altered state of consciousness. As a result, the research contributes to the creation of a wide ensemble of non-verbal signals of an altered state of consciousness, as well as the means of their representation in the text of a dramatic work.
