TREATISE AS THE FORM OF KNOWLEDGE PRESENTATION

The article deals with the ways of knowledge presentation in Ch. Darwin’s work «The Descent of Man». Treatise is chosen as the regarded form as it combines systematic and formal exposition with discussing and reasoning. Basing on the text several parameters are studied: text stratification, exposition strategy and intertextual fragments that prove author’s intention to present complicated material in an easy and accessible manner.
