The article deals with essential structural, lexical and grammatical peculiarities of the French poem, considering as an example the works a representative of the surrealism poetic movement Guillaume Apollinaire. In order to demonstrate variety and abundance of the language means used by poets of the avant-garde period, the multilevel analysis of a fragment of his poem is provided.
